Detailed staging allowed for the store to continue trading during the entire refurbishment period which included the shutting down and removal of existing lifts and escalators.

The existing heritage floors and features were retained in the original Buckley & Nunn Building including the original plaster features, stone surrounds to the lifts and internal lift cars. The new extension added a further three floors to create a complete six storey retail trading building from Bourke Street Mall to Little Bourke Street.
